Infertility

Infertility is when a couple cannot conceive (get pregnant) after 2 years despite having a regular unprotected contact. If a woman keeps having miscarriages will be considered another case of infertility and should also be under the medical care of a Specialist Doctor.

The desire to have a baby is one of life's most important and exciting decisions. Here at Dr. Leila Soudah Clinic– we will do our best to help you in every possible way, in the most friendly-conducive environment. Our expertise and vast resources enable us to offer you the most effective new procedures and technologies available in infertility treatment today.

We offer the following services:

  1. Intra-Uterine Insemination (IUI)

  2. Dr. Leila Soudah Clinic has been practising the procedure of Intra-Uterine insemination for years now to help a couple who is having difficulty in conceiving or infertility patients.

This is a simple process where a small catheter is inserted to place specially washed sperm directly into the uterus.

The process of this procedure includes the preparation of a woman thru proper medications (e.g. Clomid, Gonal F, Progesterone…) to stimulate development of eggs and to have exact timing for ovulation. Semen is produced by the husband thru masturbation after 2-5 days of abstinence and this will be send to the Laboratory for "washing". Sperm processing will takes 60 minutes. A highly worked motile sperm is placed either the cervix or uterine cavity using a sterile, flexible catheter.

The woman can stand-up after a few minutes of lying down without leak out.

This procedure should be little or no discomfort.

  3. Follicular scan/studies

  4. Follicular Study is important part of infertility treatment in Dr. Leila Soudah Clinic in which Ultrasound is used to track a woman's natural cycle. This is a helpful guide for both the Doctor and the couple to have a greater understanding of the individual's ovulatory pattern. The scan will enable the follicle (fluid filled sacs which can contain an egg) in the ovary to be measured. When the follicles measure a certain size it can then be estimated when ovulation is likely to occur. From this, the Doctor can decide and advice the couple when to have timed sexual intercourse (normal contact) prior to ovulation in order for fertilization to occur.

This same procedure also will be used by the Doctor to decide for the right timing for IUI or IVF. Dr. Leila Soudah Clinic uses the most advance High-Definition Ultrasound (e.g. Sono AVC Follicle, Automatic Measurement) that is available in the market today.

  5. Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) – Fertility Test for Tube Patency

  6. When a woman does everything possible for her to become pregnant, and there is no apparent reason why she should not become pregnant, Dr. Leila Soudah Clinic might suggest undergoing deeper and painless examination like HSG. This is very important procedure by making a clear picture and to know the condition of the fallopian tubes of the woman so as to ascertain if there is any problem with this tubes posing difficulty in conceiving.

HSG procedure requires a very thin tube to be place inside the cervix of the patient and it goes to the uterus. This tube contains microscopic bubbles that flow into the fallopian tubes and when pictures are taken using ultrasound, these bubbles reveal the patency of the tubes. Please note that this procedure is less invasive than the old technique which using X-ray because this doesn't have radiation effects.

Thus a Hysterosalpingogram is very important procedure because it reveals the entire picture inside the uterus and also the condition of the fallopian tubes to let the Doctor know where the problem lies in conception. Aside from being a diagnostic tool, HSG itself has treated infertility in many women by removing the blockage of fallopian tubes though the test is not a therapeutic means.
